Hydropower
Hydropower project involves construction of various complex structures in a well co-coordinated manner. We provide complete solutions for the construction requirements of various sizes of hydropower projects utilising the right technology to achieve timely completion & excellent overall quality.
We are able to undertake the construction of small to medium size hydropower projects independently.
We have successfully completed construction of a number of hydropower projects ranging from micro to mega projects. One such project is the 60 MW Khimti I Hydropower Project which is one of the few hydropower projects worldwide to be completed ahead of time. Himal Hydro played a major role to achieve this result. A review of the projects we have undertaken clearly demonstrates our capability in this field.
- Middle Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project [70 MW] - various parts of underground works
- Khimti I Hydropower Project (60 MW)
- Modikhola Hydropower Project (14 MW)
- Jhimruk Hydro-Electric & Rural Electrification Project (12 MW)
- Andhikhola Hydel & Rural Electrification Project (5.1 MW)
- Khudi Hydropower Project (4 MW)
- Sunkoshi Small Hydropower Project (2.6 MW)
- Tatopani Small Hydel Project (2 MW)
Besides these featured projects, we have completed construction of a number of other small hydel projects like Baglung, Tinau, Syangja, Doti etc.
Hydropower development is a key to the economic growth of Nepal. At present, Nepali hydro projects are much more costlier than similar projects in our neighboring countries eg. China or India. One of the reasons for this is the dependency on foreign companies for construction. The role of national capability building in this respect cannot be underestimated. Starting from construction of Tinau Project in the seventies, Himal Hydro has contributed in significant ways to national capability building in this field.
Continuing with best practices, we look forward to being your next hydropower construction partner.
